2018 Ford Edge SEL Sport Appearance Turns Family To Sport
Ford making improvements to the new Ford Edge SEL
Published May 5, 2017
Does it look cheap? Maybe a bit, don’t you think? Regardless, Ford can easily turn more than 12,000 units a month. This mid-size crossover now received an all new version. It is called the 2018 Ford Edge SEL Sport Appearance Pack. For some, it looks better, and for others, there is just a bit more of “cheap” on it.
The best part?
There is the best part and it is hidden behind the Sport Appearance Pack name. Welcome 19-inch wheels, painted grille, mirror housings, rear spoiler, skid plates and blacked-out headlights and side mirrors. Fine additions for a family SUV. Apart from more bling, the 2018 Ford Edge SEL Sport Appearance Pack gives the buyers more equipment too. Previously available only as an option, the car gets Sync 3 infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, black roof rails, and a power liftgate. Now that is some serious upgrade.
“Our SEL Sport Appearance Package on Edge is an opportunity to provide customers with a vehicle that meets their high expectations while giving them more choice,” said Edge brand marketing manager Angela Canales. “Being thoughtful about design and feature combinations means we’re giving them the look and the technology they’re after at an affordable price.”
Two Engines Available For The 2018 Ford Edge SEL Sport Appearance Pack
As with all other , including rad 2017 Ford Edge Titanium, the latest version of the family-sized SUV can be equipped with quite a nice 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four. Or, high end 3.5-liter V6. The Smaller one with 245hp and 275 lb-ft of torque certainly seems as a perfect match for the 2018 Edge SEL Sport Appearance Pack. After all, it is only 35hp short of the V6 power, but, interestingly, has 25 more torques. Would you care for the V6 then?
Both engines can be mated with front wheel drive or all-wheel drive setup with a six-speed auto.
