The 2018 Volvo S60 Polestar is a Masterpiece of Carbon Fiber Subtlety
Carbon Fiber Body Kit For 2018 Volvo S60 Polestar And V60 Polestar
Updated September 15, 2017
The 2018 Volvo S60 Polestar and the V60 Polestar might be some pretty cool cars, but they are not made to compete with the heavyweights from Germany and Japan. Of course, we’re talking about , and .
No, Volvo is actually aiming a bit lower – at and the BMW 340i, to be precise – and they are doing a great job of hitting where it hurts.
The 2018 refreshes car enthusiasts with a 2.0 L turbocharged 362 hp engine and proper technological intrusions from the racetrack.
The latest version, revealed only days ago, may be the swan song for this generation of the S60 Polestar, but please note, it is very good.
First off, the new cars look better thanks to all sorts of body-kit changes. The Polestar team went all out for the 2018 version and partnered with Cyan Racing in order to improve the car. Cyan Racing, as some of the car nerds probably know, use an S60 race car at the World Touring Car Championship. Polestar and Cyan dramatically improved the aerodynamics so that the new package features 30% more downforce!

A new carbon fiber body kit is to thank for the increased downforce. It includes a new splitter, new side skirts, and an extended rear spoiler. Quite surprising that these changes alone can make such a massive improvement.
Polestar didn’t stop there, however. New gloss-black 20 in. wheels paired with carbon fiber mirror accentsgive a sporty look to the new exterior. The interior, on the other hand, saw the addition of new seat lining, blue contrast stitching, and Polestar embroidering.
With 362 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque from its turbo 2.0 L engine, the all-wheel drive 2018 Volvo S60 Polestar can surge to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
That’s pretty fast for a sedan, and you’ll have to be fast as well if you want one, as Volvo has capped production at only 1,500 units. A mere 200 of these will reach U.S. soil.
Volvo is asking $60,995 for the S60 Polestar sedan and $62,595 for the V60 Polestar wagon. If you have any interest in buying one of these beautiful cars (that wagon though), I’d suggest you get on the phone with a Volvo rep ASAP.
