A 1400cc Supercharged Hayabusa For 2017? Rumor Alert!

We’re barely in to 2016 and already the rumors have started to fly for the 2017 production line. This one is a little more interesting than your average or team shuffle – this one might actually mean something. According to some very bold rumor creators, Suzuki has apparently been working on a secret project: a turbocharged GSXR-1300R Hayabusa. Some bolder rumor whisperers have even gone a step further, mentioning that the secret project will no longer be a 1300cc machine, but a 1400cc one instead. Whether you want to give this credence, is up to you.

Of course, if Suzuki were to build a monster of a 1400cc supercharged Hayabusa, it would be interesting to see how it compares with Kawasaki’s . And while we’re on the subject of comparing Suzuki machines to Kawasaki ones, how would a turbocharged Hayabusa hold up next to a in the process? Keep in mind of course, that the H2R boasts 1000cc and delivers 300 hp…so what would a 1400cc machine be capable of? There have been countless videos on the internet of Busas vs the road going H2s, and even then the. What would a 300+ horsepower Busa be capable of? And how many horses could it produce without being deemed as too “mental?”

Then there’s the final question: would making a 1400cc, 300+ hp Hayabusa be a logical and cost effective move? The answer: probably. We’ve already seen the so-called limited edition H2 and H2R machines sell like hot cakes, to the point that Kawasaki had to go back on their word and re-issue them to , despite the phenomenal price tags. If the last years have taught us anything, it’s that money is no option for those who want in on the hyperbike action.

Then again, this is nothing more than rumor at the moment BUT if Suzuki supercharged a 1400cc Hayabusa, would you buy one if you could afford it? Judging from the amount of from you guys, I’d say you’d all give the idea a thumbs up. If a “Shut up and take my money” meme doesn’t appear somewhere, I’d be disappointed.
