Chevelle SS Pulls 9s on the Track After a Wheel Stand
Chevelle SS’s were a huge contributor to the Muscle Car Era and this one is so clean it looks like it’s the seventies all over again. The Chevelle 454 SS was one of the most powerful cars made rated at 360 horsepower fresh off of the showroom floor without any modifications. The owner of the car took that to a whole new level by incorporating a 582 cubic inch big block motor that generates approximately 1,071 horsepower.
A Late model Chevelle is a pretty heavy automobile; but when it is equipped with a big block Chevy motor that produces over a thousand horsepower the weight issue goes away. It takes a lot of muscle to pull the front wheels of a SS off the ground and this car does it on every pass.
The driver of the corvette Z06 in this video probably did not expect to see Chevelle taillights in front of him: but he definitely did get a good view of them. Corvettes are fast; but not fast enough to go up against this power house.
The most amazing thing about this car is that it is totally street legal and the owner drives it on a regular basis. Most cars with this much power and speed are strictly track cars that come to the strip on a trailer.
Overall; this daily driver is an extremely clean, very fast, and a very impressive machine.
