A North Carolina police officer is forced to resign after footage has emerged of him driving down the wrong side of the highway. Ironically, State Trooper T.J Williamson was on his way to bust a group of illegal street racers when he was filmed.
The group of street racers shut down a stretch of highway in Catawba County in order to carry out the race. Once fellow officers heard of this, they immediately shut down the exit of the highway in order to catch the racers in the act. However, State Trooper Williamson was a little too eager to get to the scene and began to head up the wrong side of the road. State Trooper Williamson has since handed in his letter of resignation effective immediately.
As for the culprits, each of their $90,000+ non-North Carolina registered cars were seized at the scene. Seven drivers were quickly charged with racing, speeding and impeding traffic. The matter is still being investigated.
