700 HP Ford Mustang RTR Made its Debut at SEMA

You know it’s badass when Vaughn Gittin Jr. tunes it

Published November 1, 2017

Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s RTR Vehicles have been tuning Ford Mustang GTs since 2011 and their latest offspring is arguably the most fun and badass Mustang yet. 2018 Ford Mustang RTR has just debuted at the SEMA 2017, and it’s ready and poised to fight the most powerful muscle cars currently out there. Although exact price tag hasn’t been disclosed yet, the car and its numerous upgrades are valuated at around $60,000. What’s more, RTR Mustang will soon be available directly from select Ford dealers across the world.

2018 Ford Mustang RTR can immediately be distinguished by its hallmark illuminated LED grille endings, unique graphics and RTR badges, and aggressive aero kit with a low-slung front splitter. It also features special 20-inch wheels wrapped in Nitto 555G2 tires. But that’s far from everything Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s team has prepared. Performance part is where their Stang really shines.

RTR Mustang will be offered in three sets of tunes. 5.0L V8 will thus be offered in Specs 1 through 3, latter of which should deliver as much as 700 horsepower. Such a high power output wouldn’t have been achievable without the Ford Performance supercharger and RTR’s own air-to-water intercooler system. They’ve also installed a sport exhaust, new  fuel system, and most importantly, new multi-purpose adjustable suspension.

Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s own words should give you a further insight into this meticulous performance machine:

“It’s amazing what Ford has been able to accomplish with the 2018 Mustang in terms of performance and overall refinement, but the RTR team and I just couldn’t leave it alone!”

He then concluded by saying:

“I am confident, and many will agree, that this is one of the most fun Ford Mustangs ever to hit the street!”

Such words don’t come as a surprise from a man that’s been blessed with his own Ford Racing Mustang RTR. A car that’s helped him win the 2010 Formula D Championship title. Quite a feat in a world mostly dominated by much lighter and more nimble Nissans.

Nikola Potrebić

Despite driving a piece of junk, Nikola still manages to survive the harrowing experience called "A road trip in a Yugo," day in, day out. On the other hand, precious few things move him as muscle cars do. Especially those from the bygone golden era, which makes him wonder why wasn't he born a few decades earlier? Well, at least he's been given the opportunity to enjoy the likes of the Pontiak Aztek, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Fiat Multipla, and other lovely millennials, right? Come to think of it, I'll stick with my Yugo. Thank you very much.
