Fox News Judge Slapped with Speeding Ticket in Ironic Twist

Fox News’ Judge Jeanie Pirro Caught Doing 54 MPH Over Speed Limit

Updated November 27, 2017

It is true that we all try and get away with breaking a few rules here and there, and it is true that most of us will get caught eventually. News contributors and Judges are no exception to the law, and one woman who holds both titles found that out when she came face to face with the New York State Police. What is exceptional is the reaction she had, and the reason she gave for hauling ass down the highway in her Cadillac.

The New York State Police recently pulled over Fox News’ Judge Jeanie Pirro for doing 119 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

Her reaction is about as classy as it gets, stating to the troopers, “I had been driving for hours to visit my ailing 89-year-old mom and didn’t realize how fast I was driving,” said Pirro. “I believe in the rule of law and I will pay the consequences.”

However, her drama doesn’t stop there. While she did the best she could in the moment, she does potentially face several serious penalties for going over 40 MPH above the posted speed limit. If the courts take things to the furthest extent, the state CAN go so far as to suspend her license. While surely money is not of any major concern for the famous Judge, losing a license seems pretty extreme for a first-time offense (assuming it is her first brush with the other side of the law).

As ironic as it may be to see a Judge with a speeding ticket, the 66-year old does have an affinity for speedy cars. Her Cadillac twin-turbo CT6 has a base of 404 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. While that kind of power may be a little extreme for certain parts of New York, Judge Jeanie doesn’t seem to be messing around when it comes to her schedule.

The Car scene is so diverse Where I come from, most enthusiasts recognize the amazing engineering (particularly the engines). The bulk of the ridicule originates from the manner in which many of the vehicles are modded/maintained. Thus, the jokes and or hate tends to be aimed more at the owner rather than the machine. All of which makes seeing properly sorted old Toyota's and Hondas at car meets, auto shows, and track days all the more refreshing.

At Autowise, we envision ourselves as not just a automobile blog or an automobile news website, instead we see our website as a platform to connect all automobile enthusiast and provide them with all the information they need.
