Geiger Brings You A 520-HP Ford Raptor
A Car To Take You Everywhere, Really Fast
Published December 12, 2017
Germans did it. Geiger Cars – a German company specialized in tuning American cars got its hands on . It made it thrilling, faster, meaner and even more “Raptory”.
It is not difficult to make an already devious car even more aggressive and angry, but the thing is that only some know how to do it subtle enough to retain the composure. Geiger, with its rich history in tuning American cars, definitely know a thing or two about making this kind of things even more attractive.
Engine Tune-up For 2018 Ford Raptor Is A Subtle One
Apart from subtle exterior additions, the most notable change here is the engine. Geiger obviously did not have any intentions of overdoing it here. 3.5-liter EcoBoost is already a powerhouse with 450hp. Integrating a high-efficiency air cooler, a new cold air intake, and ECU remapping, the power did surge a bit. To exactly 520hp and 539 lb-ft of torque. No wonder they named the performance upgrade the HP520. Obvious, isn’t it.
What is not obvious that much is the fact that Raptor did an intricate paint job. Yes, the exterior paint job is all-new. Photographs do not do it justice.
That, may, however, be beside the point as the Geiger-tuned Raptor makes use of a new lift-kit. The Raptor gained 4 inches in height. Now, 22-inch wheels do not even seem extreme. Although, they do wear some serious tires. I am talking here about the 37×13.5-inch R22 M/T off-road tires. Obviously, the car is all set for extreme off-roading. It is, unfortunately, a whole nother kettle of fish if it reaches the dirt. Ever.
Even if it does not, the luxuries inside the Geiger tuned Ford Raptor provide a whole lot of on-road refinement. See, the tuning was based on top of the machine with the Luxury package. While the regular Geiger Raptor can be had for just shy of $150,000 (in Germany that is), the one with the Luxury Package will take additional $9,345 from your pocket.
Is it worth it?
- Upgraded audio system,
- A 360-degree camera,
- A security package,
- Dual automatic climate control,
- Cooled seats with memory,
- Remote start,
- Five years of Sync Connect telematic
- A 4.10:1 Torsen front limited-slip differential
It is worth it, if nothing, then because of that limited slip diff.
