Aventador S Roadster Just as Fast as Coupe Brother

Following the introduction of , Lamborghini revealed the Aventador S Roadster at the Frankfurt Motor Show. As expected, the car received much the same changes as the coupe, but it is definitely nice to see a car like this in its topless guise as well.
The Aventador S coupe did introduce us to a number of important novelties, and all of them were translated to the Aventador S Roadster as well. The only real difference between the two is the removable roof and some added weight – 110 lbs to be precise.
As expected, the roofless version had to be tensed up a bit in key areas. This was achieved by incorporating additional support beams, making the car capable of managing its roofless nature. Now, to counter the added weight of structural reinforcements, Lamborghini made an incredibly light roof. It weighs a mere 13 lbs. That’s extremely light.
As expected, the Aventador S Roadster continues with the magical 6.5 liter V12 we already know a lot about. With its 730 hp and more than 500 lb-ft of torque, the engine is easily able to win over all 110 lbs of the added weight. In that regard, the top speed of the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster stays at 217 mph – the same as the coupe version. The roadster is a tad slower to 62mph though. It needs 3 seconds flat instead of 2.9 seconds like the coupe. Not exactly a catastrophe.
Aventador S Roadster Took All the Tech From the Coupe
Managing power is the four-wheel-drive system, now complemented with four-wheel steering introduced with the coupe. Volkswagen Group-produced cars obviously adopted this technology as well. , , and now Lamborghini is on board as well. It should further improve the dynamics and the sharpness of the machine. With the Active suspension and EGO driving modes: Strada, Sport, and Corsa, the Lambo Aventador S Roadster makes for a handsome driving machine.
As ever, the buyer is always right, and in that regard, Lamborghini offered a massive amount of personalization options even before reaching into . For starters, the body is available in 13 unique finishes. Then, the two-tone leather and Alcantara interior make a stunning case of automotive perfection associated with the high-end cars of today.
The price is, of course, insanely high. Thanks to that, you now know what $460,247 worth of car looks like.
