Updated August 23, 2018
Want a piece of the Scrambler action but don’t have money? Don’t worry, because Lifan have got you covered. In what can only be described as a blatant copy, Lifan have introduced their Hunter scrambler to the world – and to be honest, it’s probably one of the best and most sensible things the Chinese company has produced. It might be a complete imitation Ducati, but it’s affordable…and you know what, you can probably have a rip roaring time actually scrambling along the trails with it…because you won’t be frightened of torturing it, or worried that you’re little fashion accessory gets dirty.
The Lifan Hunter 125 Faux Ducati Scrambler!
It might only be a 125 but we can see this little Ducati 125 Scrambler wannabe doppelganger being a runaway success in the Asian market. It’s Chinese, so it’s cheap. It looks like a Ducati, so everyone will want one. And if it’s like the last small capacity Lifan I actually had to test ride, it’ll be damn near indestructible. Lifan 125cc engines are straightforward and simple little machines with not a lot that can go wrong on them. Lifan’s bigger engines though? Well, give them time and they’ll get there.
So what’s the cost of this bizarre little not-a-Ducati contraption? Before you get your hopes up, we’ve seen no evidence that this motorcycle will ever go on sale in the western world, because, you know, copyright infringement is actually a thing over here…but that’s not to say that you couldn’t pick up a kit on somewhere like eBay or Ali Baba. If you’re really interested, one of these babies will retail for around $1,500.
If you want a but don’t want to be one of those people that actually owns a Ducati Scrambler, then why not try the Lifan Hunter 125? Say what you like about it, but you can’t argue with the price.
