Marvelous Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet Revealed
It’s an Electric Convertible More luxurious Than Any Rolls-Royce
Published August 28, 2017
You cannot go more “yacht” in the world of cars than this Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet. It is luxury unhinged. Not even a Rolls-Royce can compete with the sheer lunacy and exceptional styling of a car like this, and that’s really saying something considering the
This is not the first time that Mercedes-Maybach has done something like this. Only a few months ago, they started this luxury story with . It seems only correct to have them both in a garage for future generations to lose their mind about the luxury and opulence of the 2010s. Sadly, that won’t be happening anytime soon, as both cars are in concept form and, of course, crafted to entice Rolls-Royce buyers to consider moving into a Maybach sometime in the future. And it’s totally going to work because this thing is superb.
Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet – The Bottom Line in Luxury
It looks as though Mercedes-Maybach engineers and designers just cut the roof off of that stunning Vision 6 concept and crafted this thing, yet the sheer lunacy of this car makes us believe that it truly is unique. It is about 225 inches long, has a bonnet capable of swallowing a whole smart car, but with all that length, it only seats two?
Even if it only seats two, it does so at the height of luxury.
Can you find anything usual or dull in the interior? Of course not. Cocooned in crystal white leather quilted with small luminous buttons, an intricate blue ambient lighting system garnishes the dash, doors, and back of the cabin. The inside of the Vision 6 Convertible looks like a bridge on a really, really expensive yacht. Nautic ambiance additionally formed with the open-pore floor and aluminum inserts surpass even the wildest luxury dreams one may have. The word ecstatic may be the closest in summing up the opulence in the cabin.
We cannot even imagine how this thing would look like with top down driving at night. No car could match it from the factory.
Did we mention that it is completely silent? Despite having a massive bonnet, the car makes use of four electric motors (each for one wheel) instead of a traditional combustion engine. The motors source their power from batteries located under the wooden floor. In fact, there are so many battery cells inside that 740 HP worth of e-motors that they can power the car for more than 200 miles. Of course, if you love accelerating this luxurious behemoth to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds repeatedly, there is no chance you’ll have juice for 200 miles.
As for the cool stuff, the two-part bonnet hides a full set of picnic gear and the inside also has two heads-up displays featuring a fantastic onboard concierge service. It can be accessed via controls under the infotainment display or with vocal commands. As far as the voice commands are concerned, we’re not talking about some Ford Sync bullshit; apparently, the system will be able to understand and make sense of just about anything you say, which sounds just a bit too good to be true…
The Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Concept Convertible is possibly the most astonishing electric car in the world and the most luxurious without a doubt. Given its pedigree, presence and pricetag, it was a perfect fit for debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
