The Most American Burnout Ever?
Dodge Brings Its Most Powerful Line-Up Together in a Savage Display of Tug-of-War.
As a European, I don’t get to experience American Muscle cars on a regular basis. Ireland, along with the rest of Europe, has just recently been given the Ford Mustang, and while that is all well and good, due to the road tax system, the unfortunate majority of these Mustangs have the Eco Boost engine. Actually, only four out of the 21 ‘Stangs sold so far this year in Ireland have been the 5.0 V8.
For this very reason, I commend Dodge. Dodge has stuck to its guns with the Hellcat, and so has Cadillac, for that matter, with its CTS-V. Back in 2015, to make sure that everyone knew Dodge still meant business, they brought a Challenger Hellcat, Charger Hellcat, and a Viper to the Roadkill Nights event at Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan to make some noise and do some epic burnouts in a three-way tug-of-war.
What made these burnouts so special was the use of blue and red tire compounds to create, quite possibly, the most American burnout ever witnessed by man. The Challenger Hellcat wore red tires and the Charger Hellcat wore blue, leaving the Viper to complete the flag’s colors with ordinary white tire smoke in a truly patriotic display of American Muscle.
Roadkill Nights, Powered by Dodge, will once again return to Pontiac, MI later this year on August 12, and we’re excited to hear what they bring along this time.
