Nestled in the small town of Spring Green, Wisconsin is an unassuming shop run by Jim and Mike Ring. If those names don’t sound familiar, maybe their custom car enterprise Ringbrothers will. While the main business handles collision repair for Spring Green and the surrounding area, Ringbrothers designs and builds one or two extreme, high end cars per year. Although each of their cars is unique in its own right, it was one of their most recent builds Madam V, which was showcased in the Flowmaster booth at SEMA, that stands out as a work of art.
The Ringbrothers style marries classic and modern, form and function, elegance and power all into one amazing package. In fact, their 1971 DeTomaso Pantera (nicknamed ADRNLN) is so unique and inspiring, it is currently on display at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Taking the Ringbrothers design to the next level, the Madam V project aimed to combine a massive 1948 Fastback with the modern drivability of a new Cadillac ATS-V.
In 1948, Madam V began life with typical late 40’s Cadillac flare. Its body was large, prominent and unmistakably Cadillac. The Ringbrothers didn’t take away any of the classic lines or styling. Instead, they refined and simplified them in a way only Ringbrothers could. The headlights were frenched, the bumpers were tucked and made of carbon fiber, the grill was replaced with modern day Caddy mesh and surrounded with carbon fiber instead of chrome. In fact, all the chrome accents that originally adorned the car were replaced with modern carbon fiber, from the side trim to the window surrounds.
Of course, under that massive hood now lies a monster: a 464hp/445lb-ft, 3.6-liter twin-turbo beast from the new Cadillac ATS-V. The powertrain isn’t the only thing supplied by the ATS-V either. Nearly everything underneath that beautifully updated 1948 body is brand new, including the interior. The 8-speed automatic transmission, the air conditioning, the gauges, the seats, etc. The 19”x8” front and 20”x11.5” rear HRE wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot tires and lightly hide the powerful ATS-V Brembo brakes below. Looking underneath and inside this car is like looking at a brand new car on the dealership lot.
Honestly, if it hasn’t been obvious yet, I am totally enamored by Madam V. The insane attention to detail, smooth clean lines and flawless execution are simply amazing. The carbon fiber accents perfectly compliment the beautiful Vivi White paint scheme. The interior transports the driver into the future with a completely modern frame and suspension underneath allowing them a smooth, calm ride should they decide to take a road trip. Ringbrothers makes some phenomenal cars, and Madam V is yet another masterpiece deserving a showcase of its own.
