The 2017 Suzuki GSX-S1000 & GSX-S1000F – Prices And Specs!
The 2017 Suzuki GSX-S1000F & GSX-S1000 Models Look Incredible!
Updated August 20, 2018
They might not be a furious as the GSX-R, but the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F boast an impressive power boost, a slipper clutch and an affordable price tag for 2017. If you’re in the market for something a little more chilled out than the awe-inspiring GSX-R but don’t want too many compromises, then you should carefully consider what the 2017 GSX-S duos have to offer. The upgrades from last year might be few, but Suzuki have opted for quality over quantity in the revisions department…
Suzuki Add More Power!
If you’re a fan of the super naked style of motorcycle, you’ll be pleased to hear that Suzuki have managed to squeeze a few extra horses out of the GSX-S1000 models for 2017, increasing the power output from 143.5 hp to an impressive 150 hp (at the wheel). The torque has also increased from 78.2 lb – ft to 79.6 lb – ft too. According to Suzuki, the new power figures are thanks to revised ventilation holes in the crank case. So, thanks very much there Suzuki.
But the fun doesn’t stop at a decent power increase though. Suzuki have also decided to give both the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F a slipper clutch for 2017 too. The new slipper clutch arrangement should aid smoother down shifts and prevent any rear wheel lock whilst grinding down through the gears, which is a nice addition. The other revisions are purely aesthetic, and Suzuki have given both models black levers and controls, and the slightly more faired GSX-S1000F version gets a nice tinted screen too.
Suzuki has also added a slipper clutch, to aid with smoother downshifts, as well as some minor aesthetic changes such as black levers and foot controls. It’s worth noting that these changes are also applied to the faired GSX-S1000F, which also gains a tinted screen.
The 2017 GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F will be available to buy in either blue and black or red and black. The GSX-S1000 will be getting a cool Phantom special edition matte black color scheme for a few dollars more, and the GSX-S1000F will get an additional all-white color scheme for real masochists.
The 2017 GSX-S1000 will come with an MSRP price of $9,999, or $10,499 with ABS. The 2017 GSX-S1000F has an MSRP of $10,999 with ABS as standard.
