Tuner Gets Up To 750HP from Audi RS3 Sportback Engine

The Audi RS3 is a popular car with a lot of aftermarket support. Many kits are available from many tuners that are designed to help owners get the most out of their German sleeper wagons.
One tuner that stands out is Germany’s Oettinger. Long a tuner of Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche cars, Oettinger introduced four different stage turbo kits that increases the performance of the stock Audi RS3 Sportback into supercar territory.
The RS3 Sportback already leaves the factory with an impressive 2.5-lter, turbocharged, five-cylinder engine that puts out 367 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque. The stage I kit increases performance to a new level putting out 430 horsepower at 461 lb-ft of torque.
The stage 2 kit program elevates performance of the RS3 Sportback to yet another level putting out 520 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque. This is sufficient for a zero to 60 time of 3.3 to 3.5 seconds, depending on wheels and tires. The second generation Audi R8 V10 gets the job done in 3.5 seconds and the current generation R8 V10 sprints through in 3.2 seconds.
Oettinger removes the electronically mandated 155 mph electronic speed limiter attain a maximum speed at 193 miles per hours, putting the Stage 2 RS3 Sportback very close to R8 V10 territory. Such stunning performance is obtained by modifying the turbocharger, optimizing the intake, adding a new sport filter, changing the settings on the ECU, and a adding a new free-flowing exhaust system.
For those who need more performance than what stage 2 offers, there is stage 3 which increases performance of the 2.5 liter powerplant to 650 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The absolute pinnacle of performance is the stage 4 kit which takes output to 750 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. This is performance that takes the Audi RS3 Sportback firmly in Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce territory.
While there are many tuners addressing the RS3 Sportback, Oettinger has done a great job getting supercar horsepower out of Audi’s little station wagon. Perhaps someday, we will see just how Oettinger gets 750 horsepower out of the RS3 five-cylinder engine.
