Used Car Dealer Selling New Dodge Demon for Double MSRP
In a sketchy move, dealer marks Dodge Demon up to $175,999

Buying a new car at a dealership is never a cheap venture for anyone. This is rarely a result of sketchy behavior, but mostly just the cost of doing business. However, in the case we have here, a used car dealer somehow got a new Dodge Demon. They definitely are not following the suggested pricing as they mark it as $175,999.
Dodge has protections in place to keep its dealerships from marking up vehicles too high. However, since Custom Cars West in Englewood, Colorado, is not a Dodge dealer, there’s not much to be done about it. At the moment, it is not clear exactly how they were even able to order the limited edition. With only 3000 Demons in the US and 300 in Canada, lots with one have a lucrative lure.
Custom Cars West doesn’t have a reputation of being a shady place to do business from what we can see. Quite the opposite, they have a reputation for selling high end vehicles. With that said, the near doubling of the asking price is a more than a little questionable. We’re all for making a quick buck but taking advantage of rarity through technicalities isn’t cool.
At the moment, the best guess is that someone sold their purchase reserve to the used car dealer. Since the car is now outside of its manufacturer’s control, they have no say in its sale price. With such a limited quantity of these street legal drag racers available, it will still sell. The dealership has the build sheet for the blue Dodge Demon so we know this isn’t a hoax.
It comes complete with a 6.2L HEMI Demon V8 making 840 horsepower and 770 pound feet of torque. However, even if the muscle car is ready for the drag strip on day one, we think $175,999 is a little over the top for a Dodge Demon.
